ABOUT CURATED CATASTROPHES

Studio C.A.R.E. offers Curated Catastrophes for homes and other spaces.

The Curated Catastrophe procedure is a mix of radical interior design, art intervention and happening.

Studio C.A.R.E. plans and realises a curated catastrophe together with you in your living and/or working space(s), based on the actual needs.
With this treatment, the attitude to your spaces is being altered, applying the approach of gardening: what is useless is cut out, what is helpful may grow, all under your continuing and loving care.

This results in spaces that are truely yours, functioning to your needs and changing with you.

Additionally, it will help you developing a healthy attitude toward failure, imperfection and individual expression.

And not to forget: the fun is back!

The Curated Catastrophe - is this something I need?

You need a Curated Catastrophe if you feel like:

► I have many objects/things that I don´t know where to put

► I am not feeling at home in my surroundings

► The space surrounding me doesn´t inspire me (anymore)

► I feel utterly disconnected from my space

► I need a profound change of scenery

► Some (or all) of the above points fit me, but I feel unable to start

► I already had a fresh layer of paint, but I still keep hitting furniture on my daily route to the fridge

How to start a Curated Catastrophe?

If you see more than one of the above points being checked, you should give the Curated Catastrophe a try!

A deeper look on the underlying problem

The spaces we work and live in are the places where we spend most of our time in. Places known to reflect our inner selfs and to be our save havens.

That’s why it is so important for us to be active, capable and confident users of our environments. We figured that it’s all about deconstruction and reconstruction to achieve that.

Our spaces are conflictual though. They contain a variety of contradictory usages, situations, tensions, and compromises. A fresh layer of interior design may help temporarily, but does not solve the underlying problem. Instead, it increases it, leaving us stuck in an interior crisis. Solving the problem at its root may seem like a lot of effort, but failing to do so leads to unnecessary consumption and unhappy individuals. Both of which are major polluters of the planet.

As a solution, the Curated Catastrophe pushes individuals out of their comfort zones to reset the spatial disharmony. It radically frees from the overwhelming interior crisis and stagnation in a particular space.
